A two-day training program on eco-tourism and nature guiding was organized at Jyotirmath under the Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve to promote sustainable tourism and livelihood opportunities in the region. The program brought together nature guides, tour operators, local tourism entrepreneurs, homestay operators, and individuals associated with eco-tourism. During the training, experts highlighted the vast potential of eco-tourism and nature tourism in the area and emphasized how it can become a strong source of livelihood for local youth.
Officials from the Nanda Devi National Park explained that in the coming years the park administration will focus on capacity building, professional training, and digital promotion to strengthen eco-tourism in the region. The initiative aims to connect local youth with tourism agencies and develop their skills so they can actively participate in nature-based tourism activities. Several officials and representatives, including members from the park administration and local organizations, were present during the program.
